Changes for Patients and Caregivers
Encouraged first meetings
Any patient who is invited to register will be encouraged to schedule their first appointment with a PocketRN Nurse or request an on-demand meeting. We have found this patient’s first meeting to be an important step for a patient understanding PocketRN’s value for them. Caregivers registering patients will be encouraged to schedule first meetings for these patients as well.
Patients inviting caregivers to meetings
When scheduling a meeting, patients can now invite caregivers and other participants to meetings. They can create new caregivers for each meeting or choose existing ones. Any new caregivers created will receive notifications to join the meeting and will have the opportunity to set up their own PocketRN account.
Caregivers can invite new patients to register
Caregivers can create their own patients, invite them to register, and set up the patient’s first scheduled meeting. Any patients created by the caregiver will be notified and given the opportunity to set up their own PocketRN account. Caregivers inviting patients can also assign and track the completion of onboarding tasks to other individuals involved in the patient’s care.
Changes for Nurses
Nurses can connect their calendar to PocketRN
Nurses with Google Calendar can connect their Google account to PocketRN to have their meetings displayed on their calendars. Additionally, patients or caregivers will not be able to schedule appointments that overlap with any event on a Nurse’s Google Calendar, including events that are unrelated to PocketRN meetings.
Nurse portal updates
Nurses now have a unified home page to manage their meetings, shifts, call types, and their status in the matchmaking queue.
Changes for Partners
Customizable call topics for clinics
Each clinic can have customized call topics that make most sense for their situation. Call types can have a custom:
- Name
- Description
- Calendar slot length and maximum length
- Whether this is a recommended call topic for the first meeting or in general
- Whether the patient is required to be on video to complete the meeting
- And many more options!
Additionally, we know some of our clinics have caregivers that meet with Nurses for training, assessments, or reasons that don’t involve a specific patient. To accommodate this, we allow clinics to designate call topics as “caregivers only”, meaning that they will only be displayed for caregiver accounts and do not involve patients.
