Creating a guest patient

Here at PocketRN, customers have the option to create or connect to a "guest patient" account for individuals under their care. Creating a guest patient account is particularly useful in situations where the patient is unable to complete the process independently. It allows you to manage their account from your own.

To get started, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your PocketRN account.
2. Select the "My Profile" tab.
3. Choose "Patients" under the Manage Profile section.
4. Click on "Add a Patient".

At this point, you have two options:

• Connect to an existing patient account: Simply enter the email of the guest patient.
• Create a patient account: Fill out the necessary information (Legal Name, Date of Birth, etc.) to create an account for the guest patient.
• If you possess legal medical Power of Attorney, select "I hold Power of Attorney for this Patient".

After this, you will encounter the terms and consent forms. Take a moment to review the available options:

• If the guest patient is present with you and capable of reviewing and providing consent to the terms, please pass them the device being used for registration and select "continue".
• If the patient is not present, choose "I cannot pass the device to the Patient" to proceed. Follow the steps provided on how to obtain verbal or written consent from the guest patient.
• If you possess legal medical Power of Attorney, you may sign the consent forms on behalf of the patient. We will record your signature alongside the indication of the patient's consenting for our records.

You will then be prompted to sign the consent on behalf of the patient.

By following these steps, you can easily create or connect to a guest patient account on PocketRN and manage it from your own account.
